HONOLULU—The Department of Taxation’s Summer Workshops for 2008 will begin in
Hilo on Friday, August 22. The remaining workshops on Maui, O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, and in
Kona will be held within the following weeks (see schedule on following page).
All workshops begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. Topics include Tax Services
and Processing Updates, Compliance Initiatives, Criminal Investigations, 2008 Tax
Legislation Updates, Enterprise Zones Partnership Presentation, General Excise and
Transient Accommodations Tax Obligations for Owners of Condotels, and a Panel
Discussion on Compliance Issues.
The cost for the workshop is $60 for those who register at least two weeks ahead; there
is a $5 fee for late registrations. The cost includes continental breakfast and all
workshop materials. The course provides four hours of Continuing Professional
Education credit. The workshop materials may be purchased separately for $15 each.
